The mission of SEGAFFSH is to enhance the overall economic value of Fort Stewart and the surrounding communities through a progressive regional relationship amongst the partners.
This mission will be achieved though the accomplishment of three goals:
Goal 1: Serve as a central coordination and resource center for community-related Fort Stewart/Hunter Army Airfield initiatives
Goal 2: Fully integrate Fort Stewart/Hunter Army Airfield as friends of the community
Goal 3: Provide for long-term viability of SEGAFFSH
Our objectives include:
Serve as the central clearing house and resource center to ensure local, state and federal agencies/organizations are working Fort Stewart/Hunter Army Airfield initiatives in concert
Serve as the primary advocacy group for Fort Stewart/Hunter Army Airfield and the focal point for coordinating issues of broad significance
Lead development and implementation of a Long Range Military Support Plan mutually agreed upon by Fort Stewart/Hunter Army Airfield officials, SEGAFFSH, surrounding communities, chambers of commerce, military affairs committees and other related government agencies
Ensure capability to operate a variety of missions at Fort Stewart of operational restrictions (encroachment, environment, transportation, etc)
Seek military mission growth and related economic development opportunities
Identify and promote public-private ventures and EUL opportunities
Enhance Quality of Life for all that provides the southern living community of choice in Georgia for all residents
Focus on Economic Growth in surrounding communities
Ensure a viable Board of Directors, Executive Committee, Advisory Board and separate committees as required to execute the annual plan
Maintain a full-time Executive Director who will execute day-to-day activities of the organization
Ensure financial records are officially reviewed annually by a Certified Public Accountant
Ensure D&O insurance, 501c3 documentation, tax documents, and financial records and other federal, state or local legal requirements are met

Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield is undoubtedly a major economic engine in the region. As of March 2014, the estimated economic impact is $4.9 Billion. That is correct, billions per year. The presence of Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield can be felt in communities within the southeast Georgia region and the entire state.
Southeast Georgia Friends of Fort Stewart and Hunter (SEGAFFSH) is a non-profit organization, incorporated in 1999, dedicated to enhancing the overall economic value of Fort Stewart and its surrounding communities. This progressive regional relationship includes military community, local governments, public agencies, businesses, and individual partners. Education, health care, housing, child care, transportation, etc. is our focus as we strive to keep our military installation an integral part of the community.
We are looking for partners to invest in the future of the region and a pledge of support for installation sustainability with a focus on quality of life issues. SEGAFFSH welcomes an opportunity to present to you or any group you are involved why we believe there is need to support a combined approach.
